Grand Canyon Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Bureau has unveiled a redesigned Web site that showcases member businesses while providing additional marketing and tracking tools.
Chamber Executive Director Craig Andresen contracted with Chamber Nation to power the site and worked closely with them on the design.
"I wanted it to have a certain look and feel, keeping an eye toward the natural beauty of the Canyon all the
way through," he said.
The homepage, at grandcanyonchamber.com, features information on Grand Canyon with links to explore deeper and tabs to take browsers to the businesses. Visitors can search by business name or category of service, with members able to select up to five categories for what they provide.
"I tried to link to things that people would want to see and know before they come here," Andresen said. "It's one of the things that makes us different from a lot of chambers."
Members can customize their own pages - or even create a page if they don't have a presence on the Web - and include features like video, coupons, e-brochures and special offers. They can also receive reports on their traffic. Tech support is free.
The site also features an events calendar where anyone can submit details on community happenings.
"Anyone can contribute," said Andresen. "If they have events for the community, we want to know about them."
Launching the site to replace a static and dated page was a priority for Andresen when he joined the Chamber in May. Now he will focus on building membership, with a goal of doubling the current level of 50 by the end of the year.
